Welcome to the Spring term in

Kestrel Class!

Our teacher is Mrs Lawrie.

We have lots to look forward this term as we delve into studying space. This will link across other subjects such as English and Art.

We will also be learning lots of exciting new things in Maths, R.E. and Computing.

PE kits must be in school every day.

We are learning all about Earth and space this term. We’re getting pretty good at remembering the order of the planets and have found some fascinating facts about space and our solar system.

We have been learning all about the properties of materials and have tested thermal and electrical insulators and condcutors and tried separating materials using different processes

We went for a sensory trip around the school grounds to find inspiration for our poetry.

We have been exploring Scratch coding projects to get inspiration for our own crations

We had a great day at Ashford Education Centre learning about the way water is processed so that it is safe to drink and making dams in the river.

We were introduced to Active Blasts along with the rest of the school. We certainly got active and it really was a blast!

We’ve been investigating how air resistance can affect the movement of objects by making parachutes.

Congratulations to Hollie, Heidi, Charlie and Ella for being first to receive pen licences this term.

In English, we have been imaging what we would see on a trip along the Amazon river through music and drama and hot seating to explore the feelings of Maia, our main story character.

We are really enjoying our swimming lessons this term and making great progress too!

We are proud to be able to introduce our class reps. Tommy is our school council member and Hannah is our librarian.

In Science, we are learning about balanced and opposing forces...

We have been working super hard since coming back to school, but we’ve also enjoyed learning to be effective communicators and cooperators, working together as a team
