Bumblebee and Butterfly Class

Our Year 1 classes are Bumblebee Class, taught by Mrs Mongare and Mrs Kimmins, and Butterfly Class, taught by Miss Stevens.

In Year 1 at North Petherton Community Primary School, we provide a broad and engaging curriculum that supports children as they transition from the Early Years into more structured learning.

Pupils develop key skills in reading, writing, and mathematics through a range of high-quality texts and practical learning experiences. The wider curriculum includes science, history, geography, computing, and creative subjects, helping children to explore the world around them and develop curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Personal development is an important focus, with children learning about relationships, respect, and responsibility.
