Summer Term ⭐️

 

 

We have a fun filled term to look forward to with lots of exciting things happening! We will be delving into Antarctica and looking at the Frozen Planet. We will also be continuing with our decimals, shapes and lots more. We will also be doing some fantastic art and also lots of great science work! 

 

 

 

Year 4 Curriculum Newsletter - Summer Term

Spelling homework due in/new list handed out Friday
Reading Records handed in Friday

Please listen to your child read at least 4x a week.
Please ensure your child has their reading book and reading record in their bag every day.

We had so much fun performing ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ today! 

Cross country superstars! 🌟

Today we began investigating how different liquids effect our teeth. We have three eggs, acting as our teeth, in three different liquids. These are coke, orange juice and water. We will be observing them over the next four days to see the effects.

SHAPE DAY 

We has lots of fun this afternoon reading with our buddies in the sunshine.

Today we had to help Mr Penguin find the lost treasure. We wrote our own riddles to help him!

The sun was shining today so we went outside and read to our friends.

Today we had fun interviewing each other. We took it in turns to become Shackleton and hire people. We hired cooks, engineers, stokers and many more. 

Today we started our Frozen Planet topic with an exciting visit from Ernest Shackleton and listening to some information from David Attenborough. We are excited to get started!

After our Easter Egg Hunt, we worked in groups to research and find out about the important days of the Easter period. We researched Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. 
What a fun time we had today during our Easter Egg Hunt. We even saw the Easter Bunny! 😁🐣🐰
We had so much fun today celebrating Red Nose Day! Thank you for your very generous donations πŸ˜„

In Science this week, we have been learning about Electricity. We had so much fun investigating circuits on Tuesday. We investigated what would happen to the brightness of a bulb if more batteries were added to the circuit. We found out that the more batteries you add to the circuit the brighter the bulb got πŸ’‘

Otter class had so much fun raising money for Children in Need today. We ran an amazing 358 laps!!!

We had fun in English today creating human sentences. We focused on our punctuation. We made sure our sentences had capital letters and an appropriate piece of punctuation at the end. 
Well done to Hannah and Sam for achieving their celebration certificates this week and another well done to Louis for his dojo award and Hollie for being star of the week ⭐️
