Children returning to school in Years F and 1
Information for parents
We look forward to seeing the children again on Monday 1st June.
We are very aware that the children will arrive at school on Monday with different experiences of the last two months. Our overall aim is to make the return to school a positive and rewarding experience for the children. Staff will not dwell on the current national situation. Of course if children need support they will receive it.
The children have been carefully grouped across the year group by class teachers. Shortly, you will receive a text message stating the colour of the group your child will be in, the adults leading it and the classroom they will be working in.
Universal free meal for KS1 - Bam will be providing a basic packed lunch (sandwich & fruit) you may wish to supplement this with additional food or provide your own packed lunch. Please provide a drink.
Children can wear school uniform. However, if this is not possible then non-uniform is fine (covered shoulders please), ideally trainers (not flimsy shoes) for P.E (the children will not be changing clothes or shoes when in school).
If appropriate please apply sun cream to your child before school. They can bring sun cream in but will be have to apply this themselves. A sun hat would also be useful. We will provide hand sanitiser in each classroom (Please do not send your child in with it).
Everything else will be provided including stationery (No toys please!).
If child requires medication, please complete and email the attached medicine form to email@example.com
Please arrive between 8.30am and 8.55am and observe the 2 metre ‘Funky Feet’ markings on footpaths into school. A one-way system will operate on site – 2 entry points and two exit points via Mill Street or Schoolfields. The Beggs Close entrance will be kept locked and not used. Children will be met by an adult on the playground holding their group colour. Parents leave the site by the designated exits in Mill Street or Schoolfields.
Yr Foundation 2.50pm
Yr 1 3.00pm
Key worker children 3.15pm
Families with children in different years. Children will stay with the teacher until the final pick up time for the oldest sibling. eg you have a child in F and one child in the key worker group you would collect them both at 3.15pm. All children would be collected from the main playground (by the bridge) and parents will be expected to observe an appropriate social distance. Only one parent per family will be allowed on site to help keep numbers down. We do accept that it may be necessary for children in Yrs 2 to 5 to accompany their parent on site when dropping off and collecting siblings. Parents are asked to leave the site promptly before and after school.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
