We have been working hard to try and find a way to allow more children to come back to school before the end of term. You may already be aware that some primary schools are making plans to bring back year groups other than Yr F 1 & 6 before the end of term and are making capacity available by stopping or reducing provision for these year groups. I would like to explain our current position and why at the moment we aren’t permitted to admit more children.
The Government position is that at this point, they are allowing primary schools flexibility to welcome more children back, but only where:
The advice we have had from the LA insurers is ‘to continue to follow Government advice, and that of Department for Education and not to veer from this as it could leave you open’.
The advice from Public Health is to follow the Guidance as follows:

I hope you can see why, at the moment, it is not possible to invite children in Years 2,3, 4 & 5 back to school. All available teaching staff are currently teaching a group.
