Welcome to Hedgehog Class

PE this half term will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The children need their kit in school at all times please. Make sure they have something warm to wear in case we are outside. Children who are doing Forest School on a Tuesday instead of PE must also make sure they have appropriate clothing in school.

Superstars of the week in English and handwriting

Watch this space for our upcoming anti-bullying videos...

Hedgehog class re-told the 'Good Samaritan' story using classroom items, they had lots of fun!

Superstars of the week in English and handwriting

To start our RE unit 'what is important to me?', everyone showed their special item and explained why it was important to them. The children had lots to say!

As a school, the children have created a labyrinth in North Petherton Church grounds.

Our new topic for English is instruction writing. We had a go at following different instructions to see what features were most useful. We had fun making paper aeroplanes, opening up a word document, writing our name in sephamore and building a Lego house.

No pens day! We spent our day researching willow and what it needs to grow. After that, we discussed different flood defences and had a go at making our own in groups. Finally we built our own towns to see if it would survive a flood. Some of our houses survived whilst others were in need of repair.

Superstars of the week for English, Maths and improved handwriting.

Following on from our Flood story, the children looked at flood prevention and investigated what items would be safe in Hedgehog Class.

Readopoly. Well done to all the children who are reading 5 times or more each week, keep it up!

"Quick guys, we've got to pack our bags and get our coats on. It's about to flood!" This is how we started our Flood unit to help us understand how the characters were feeling when they watched the weather forecast. We listened to thunderstorms as we curled up in our beds and wrote some amazing story openers.

What makes a good friend? We have been using our class novel 'Lucinda and the Hedgehog Gang' to help us decide.

If your activity is verbal then please ask someone to sign your spelling list so Mrs Hill knows you have practised them. Below are some good examples.
