Welcome to Frog Class! Your teachers are Mrs.Mongare and Mrs.Tainton. Your TA is Mrs.Mahdy.

What a fantastic trip to Weston. We had fun learning about Victorian times. We compared old and new items and looked around the museum.
We ended our day at the beach.
It was all too much for some!
Today we used plastic mesh for our weaving. We used felt in the colour of the waves! What do you think?
We were learning about the siege of Taunton this week. We made castles.
We started our new book this week. We really enjoyed hot seating the main character Mr. Grinling to find out more about him.

A GIANT picnic! The children have been working so hard this term. The giant has been so grateful for their help in teaching Jack a lesson that he left us picnic food and party games. He got the scale of the food a little wrong but we enjoyed it all the same! Well done Year 2. We are really proud of the effort you have put in over the last 4 weeks!

As part of our ‘Superheroes’ topic we interviewed a real life police dectective to find out why she is a hero.
What healthy frogs we are!! In science we made fruit kebabs.
We are Super proud of the amazing art work the children have created in the style of Vincent Van Gogh.
Over the last few weeks we have been finding out about Vincent's life, how he painted and the techniques he used. His sunflower picture is probably his most famous painting, so we decided to paint some daffodils in the same style. What do you think?
Today for Red Nose Day, the children got to throw sponges at a very brave Mrs Ottley! Well done for all the money raised today!!

What a fantastic book week we’ve had. Lots of creative activities using the book “The Lost Words” and dressing up as book characters.
We had a fun day introducing our ‘Superheroes’ topic. We did lots of fun activities like designing our own superheroes, writing superhero stories and making our own masks.
Well done to the fantastic ‘Froxes’ for an outstanding assembly where you showcase all the work we have been doing this term.

This week we have completed lots of work from our story Lila and the secret of rain. We ‘freeze framed’ different events and then wrote what the character would be feeling.
What a great week back. We started our topic off with djembe drumming and singing and dancing to an African song!
We started our new English book which is set in an African village. We worked in teams to discuss and record how the character, Lila was feeling throughout the story.

We have been learning about the artist Andy Goldsworthy, who creates sculptures using natural materials. We worked in groups today to create our own natural sculptures, using materials we found in the school grounds.
Well done to Arran (and his dad) for making a medieval shield at home.
WOW! An amazing start to our new topic Pottage, Plague and Poetry. Thank you to Mr.Strange for helping us begin our learning journey about medieval times. We have made pottage, ginger bread and shields.

No Pens Day. We started in Maths by dancing our number bonds then playing pumpkin pie. Then we created pictures of ourselves by cutting out our photo and re-arranging the pieces.

We’ve had a great first week back. We completed lots of getting to know you activities and made moons to decorate our classroom to link in with our new topic ‘Explorers.’
This week we have been doing place value in Maths. We were finding different ways to split numbers into tens and ones.
In English we started our book ‘ The man on the moon.’ We freeze framed some scenes. Can you guess which ones we did?
