Bonjour! I hope that you are all safe and staying healthy. Remember you can still watch the French version of “The Little Red Hen” here:
This week, to continue with the topic of bread-making, I would like you to also watch the video for a French nursery rhyme about a miller whose windmill starts spinning out of control whilst he is having an afternoon nap!
After watching the video, have a go at drawing and colouring a windmill, and practise your hand-writing with the lyrics of the song: Meunier, tu dors Ton moulin va trop vite Meunier, tu dors Ton moulin va trop fort |
Instead of drawing a windmill, you may prefer to have fun at junk modelling one, using the inside of a kitchen roll and other pieces of card from your recycling box.
Remember to take a picture of your drawing or model and send it to me via Purple Mash @2email. |

Bonjour! I hope that you are all safe and staying healthy, and that you enjoyed the Little Red Hen story last week. You can watch it again here if you wish:
This week I would like you to think of what the Little Red Hen makes with the flour from the wheat she grew herself: “un gâteau”. You might have heard that word in English before. What is it? In French it means a cake (any type of cake). I wonder if you have ever tried any other French cakes and breads??? Look at the list in the Notes box and practise your super neat handwriting and drawing to make an illustrated vocabulary sheet. Then put a tick next to the cakes and breads you have eaten before. You could also give each food a score out of 5 to let me know how much you like them! |

Bonjour! I hope that you enjoyed the lovely weather over half-term and that you are all safe and staying healthy. Do you remember all your French farm animal words from the songs you practised last half-term? This week I would like you to watch a video I’ve made of a storybook where the characters are animals. Here is the link:
Have fun watching, and keep practising your animal words! |

I hope that you are all safe and staying healthy. This week I would like you to continue practising your animal words (and animal noises!) whilst singing in French. Use the links below for your two songs, and remember the actions we learned for “Y a une pie”. After singing the songs to someone at home, why not build your own model farm (using wooden or plastic blocks, or Lego, or even empty tins and cereal boxes to make the buildings)? Then place toy animals if you have any or pictures that you have drawn and position French labels near the animals. Have fun!

I hope that you are all well and that you had an egg-cellent Easter! This week I would like you to continue practising your animal words whilst singing in French. Did you know that animals make different noises when they live in France? Find out more with this French version of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”: BBC Bitesize French Old Macdonald Had A Farm
|
Once you have watched the song a few times, please draw each animal from the song and label it in French, then add a speech bubble and copy the sound the animal makes in French. Remember you can take a picture of your French work and send it to me via Purple Mash @2email. |

EASTER HOLIDAYS
YEAR GROUP |
TASK |

During the Easter break, why not research French Easter traditions? What do French children do at Easter that is the same as or different from what we do in the UK? You could draw a picture to show what you have found out. If you do, why not take a picture and email it to me on Purple Mash? Joyeuses Pâques!
|
If you have family in a country other than France, you could draw a picture / write a paragraph about how they celebrate Easter over there. What is Easter called in other languages? |
