Fox Class Y2

Welcome to Fox Class

Our teaching assistant is Miss Conlon.

What do you call a collection of lighthouses? Well done Fox class, you helped and supported each other to create you very own lighthouses. Mr G would be proud!

We’ve been learning about castles under siege. We made and painted our own castles!

A GIANT picnic! The children have been working so hard this term. The giant has been so grateful for their help in teaching Jack a lesson that he left us picnic food and party games. He got the scale of the food a little wrong but we enjoyed it all the same! Well done Year 2. We are really proud of the effort you have put in over the last 4 weeks!

We have been learning about germs and how to clean our hands properly.

As part of our ‘Superheroes’ topic we interviewed a real life police detective to find out why she is a hero.

We enjoyed making fruit kebabs this afternoon. We have been learning about how we can stay healthy and the fruit kebabs tasted delicious! Can we make them everyday?

Forest school foxes enjoyed making a den. They designed, build and developed it as a group under the watchful eye of Mr Simpson.

We have been learning about length and height. Who is the tallest? How tall am I?

After a busy half term in maths we took some time out this morning to play some consolidation games.

We enjoyed working with the beebots this morning, programming and testing our own algorithms.

We have sent home the children’s chilli challenge spellings today. These will be tested on Monday 1st October. The children are given an opportunity to learn them in school but we would appreciate you helping your child to learn the spellings and to help them practise using them in sentences at home.

We have asked the children to hand their spelling log in when they are ready to be tested on their animal or season spellings. They may only want to be tested on a few words but we expect every child to ask for at least one spelling test every fortnight. So far so good!

Well done to all of you who passed their number bonds yesterday. For some of you that’s three passes in three weeks!

Here are this week’s super spellers. Get learning your number bonds for Monday. You could be in the next certificate photo!

Did you miss our meet the teacher event on Thursday 13th September?

All information communicated during the session will be available here soon.

Please speak to me after school or write a note if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Mrs Casson
