Sports Relief Day. Thank you to everyone who made a donation today. Through our school council, we decided to set up an obstacle course to mark the day. We also looked at the sugar content in food, we found some shocking discoveries! 🍭🥃

WOW! What a fantastic day we have had celebrating world book day. We thought about where our book characters may like to do their extreme reading, created a class song, turned pebbles into fish for our school book, had a fashion show and even found time to read with year 6. Superb effort Hedgehog Class!

We have been working on capturing our audience's attention with brilliant expression and tone of our voice. Isabella even faced her fears of performing in front of others! We were all very proud of her!

Today Year 3 learnt about articles and created a video for you at home.

No pens day! A big thank you to Mr and Mrs Hancock who taught us about willow and how to weave it to create baskets and 'twirly sticks'. We also made our front covers for our stories - the flood.

Year 3 have looked at the towns, hills and rivers surrounding the Somerset Levels to learn more about where we live. Through our English story Flood, we decided we wanted to investigate flood defences so built our own towns to see if they would withstand a downpour. Some of us were successful, whilst others of us discussed why our towns flooded.

To kickstart our imagination we became unicorns, giants and monkeys before acting out different sources of water for our story 'the flood'.

In maths we got creative to show how many ways we could represent number.

On Friday, Mr Wright taught us how to throw underarm and catch. We played lots of games!

This afternoon we explored magnetic forces, materials and discussed how the poles attract and repel from one another. We even learnt a few magic tricks along the way!

"Quick... quick shut the windows and put on your coats, we need to get ready for a storm!" On Friday we acted out how it would feel to hear this message and started the beginning of our stories. Mrs Hill was very impressed with the class word bank.
