In Science this week we have been learning about being healthy. We made fruit kebabs and did an experiment to find out how to wash our hands properly.

In Art we are looking at the work of the eco-artist Andy Goldsworthy. We started with making a whole class natural sculpture based on his work.

We then went into groups to make our own natural sculptures.

Thank you for all your hard work over the half term with the ‘Explorers’ homework. We were so impressed with all of the final products.

In Science we are learning about materials and how we can change them. We changed the shape of the dough by squashing it and changed the shape of the playdoh by twisting it.

No Pens Day- we made 2D shapes with straws and a 3D cube. Well done to Jacob for winning the vote for the best joke in Frog Class. It made us all laugh- What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear!! We also played pass the sound and launched some of our rockets. (videos to follow)

Thank you for all the bottles. We loved making our rockets. Can't wait to test them tomorrow!

Today we did some 'hot seating'. We became Bob and answered questions from the other children.

We have been busy this week. In English we have been writing postcards describing our trip to the moon.  For our topic work we have been learning about Neil Armstrong. We watched the moon landing and Mrs Preston-Evans told us about how she went to America to watch the last night launch. We designed our own rockets and we will be making them next week. Please don't forget to bring in any used plastic bottles.

In Maths we have been recognising and sorting 2D and 3D shapes. We have also been playing 'number bond alley'. Why not have a game at home!!

Number bond alley!

We enjoyed making collages of aliens. Come and have a look at our alien display next week.

We have been picking our favourite part from the story 'The Man on the Moon' and freeze-framing them.

Hope you have had a fantastic summer!

The first week is nearly over and we have been busy!

Our topic this term is Explorers, and we will be reading the book        "The Man on the Moon".

Pop in and see our shiny moons and galactic spaceships we have made to decorate our reading corner.
