What royal fun we had today. We started with a Royal quiz. Then we made bunting to decorate our class. We ended our day by completing a challenge with Lion class,watching the fake royal wedding and eating lots of cake!!!

Well done to Kurtis, Eva, Lily and Ella for being judge by Mr Hobbs to have some of the best Jack and the beanstalk work.

We all enjoyed our ‘giant’ picnic to celebrate the end of our extra tasks, finishing with a game of giant dominoes.

We acted out scenes from the story and deciphered her alien language.

What a fantastic last week of a busy term. We started with a visit from a nurse and a police officer. We have decided that not all superheroes wear capes!

Then it was the Easter egg hunt. Great team work Frogs!

What a great World Book Day we have had; from fashion shows, making fish, painting pebbles to writing character profiles and sharing stories with our buddy class!

What a fun day we had for fair trade Friday. We learnt about the life of a fair trade farmer and wrote a diary entry, researched where certain fair trade foods came from and made posters.

To end our day we made fair trade lemonade. Cheers!!!

Hope you had a great half term. What a fantastic first day back!  We loved all the superhero costumes. A big thank you for all the effort you put into making the costumes. 

We started our day telling everyone about our superpowers. We then spent the rest of the day completing lots of super activities. We cracked the secret code with our Maths knowledge, we wrote a superhero story, we designed a superhero and we made superhero masks!  Well done fantastic frogs, a super start to our topic!

Hopefully your child has brought their homework home including a small note about our first day back after half term. We are having a superhero day to kick off our new topic. We would love the children to dress up as a superhero , being creative about the name of their superhero and their costume. Prizes will be awarded for the most imaginative hero!

We started our topic on India this week.

We worked together to research and find facts about Indian transport and clothes. We wrote non - chronological reports to present our information.

What a busy first week back we have had. We started our week by working together to research different insects. We had fun using ‘brusho’ and water colours to draw pictures of insects.

We enjoyed warming up our voices before performing our own poems.

We were so excited today. We had a delivery from Santa! He left us a letter and a book. We are going to learn about why we celebrate Christmas and then write a reply to Santa.

December is finally here! Which meant we could open our advent calendar. On Friday we were able to decorate a Christmas tree. We each picked our own decoration. A big thank you to Daisy’s grandad for sending us the advent calendar.

We have been lucky to have Mr.Wright teach us gymnastics over the past 6 weeks. For our final week we worked together to developed our skills by performing counter balances

This week we enjoyed working together to write algorithms to instruct the Bee Bots.

In English we wrote instructions for ‘How to make a candle holder’. We then used our instructions to make these.

In computing we are learning about algorithms. We wrote algorithms to send our friends around the playground.

We then applied our learning on an iPad game, making a robot move and pick up items.

In Science this week we have been learning about being healthy. We made fruit kebabs and did an experiment to find out how to wash our hands properly.

In Art we are looking at the work of the eco-artist Andy Goldsworthy. We started with making a whole class natural sculpture based on his work.

We then went into groups to make our own natural sculptures.

In Science we are learning about materials and how we can change them. We changed the shape of the dough by squashing it and changed the shape of the playdoh by twisting it.

No Pens Day- we made 2D shapes with straws and a 3D cube. Well done to Jacob for winning the vote for the best joke in Frog Class. It made us all laugh- What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear!! We also played pass the sound and launched some of our rockets. (videos to follow)

Today we did some 'hot seating'. We became Bob and answered questions from the other children.

We have been busy this week. In English we have been writing postcards describing our trip to the moon.  For our topic work we have been learning about Neil Armstrong. We watched the moon landing and Mrs Preston-Evans told us about how she went to America to watch the last night launch. We designed our own rockets and we will be making them next week. Please don't forget to bring in any used plastic bottles.

In Maths we have been recognising and sorting 2D and 3D shapes. We have also been playing 'number bond alley'. Why not have a game at home!!

We have been picking our favourite part from the story 'The Man on the Moon' and freeze-framing them.

The first week is nearly over and we have been busy!

Our topic this term is Explorers, and we will be reading the book        "The Man on the Moon".
