Welcome to Fox Class
Our class teacher is Mrs Casson
and our teaching assistant is Ms Ashley
Please could all children bring a pair of trainers or a spare pair of socks to school tomorrow. We will be outside for PE and the grass can be wet first thing in the morning.
It would be helpful if trainers could be left in school in case of additional sports day practise.
We have been so impressed with the effort and concentration the children have shown with their work this week. They have been completing some extra tasks for us and they have done us proud.
We asked them to show us their best and they could not have done anymore!
They have been doing work around the story of Jack and bean stalk, making wanted posters to find that naughty Jack, planting and observing their own bean stalks and much, much more.
Well done Foxes.
You’re all incredible!
What Fabulous Foxes you are!
Well done to all of you foxes for your hard work this week.
Congratulations to Megan who is our handwriting hero this week. Megan's handwriting is always beautifully presented and perfectly formed. Well done Megan!
Megan is joined by Yasmine and Hollie as our fabulous foxes with the most class dojos.
We hope you all have a great weekend.
We will see you back for a fun filled week on Monday!
Congratulations to Oscar and Amelia who were in celebration assembly this afternoon and to our fabulous foxes who earned the highest number of ClassDojo points.
I am so proud of all of the foxes this week. You have all worked hard and all achieved work you should be very proud of! We are super proud of you all!
Keep it up next week.
A very curious discovery was made on Monday. It seems a space ship has crashed in our school.
What is the most popular colour in our maths class?
What is the least popular colour?
Can you find the difference between blue and green?
Thank you Fox Class for all your effort with costumes and props for World book Day. We have had a great day exploring how we can be happy and confident in who we are and make a positive difference in the world. Well done. Back to normal tomorrow. See you in the morning.
What a super day!
Thank you to all the children who got dressed up today to kick off our new topic in style and thank you to the parents who provided and helped to make the children look so incredible! We had a fantastic day writing stories and making masks. We even broke the code and read the secret message.
There is a selection of photos below of each of the super groups who took part. Well done Fox Class Super Heroes! What a SUPER day!
As promised Fox Class Heroes...
Hopefully your child has brought their homework home including a small note about our first day back after half term. We are having a superhero day to kick off our new topic. We would love the children to dress up as a superhero , being creative about the name of their superhero and their costume. Prizes will be awarded for the most imaginative hero!
Get creating! We look forward to seeing you on the 19th of February. Enjoy your half term break!
Mrs Casson and Mrs Mongaré.
Today we said goodbye and good luck to Miss Conlon as she continues her adventure in a new direction. We know she will be amazing in her new role and we wish her all the best.
On Monday 5th February Ms Ashley will be joining Fox Class and we can’t wait!
See you all then.
We hope you had a peaceful and fun filled Christmas holiday. It has been great to welcome you all back to Fox class, ready and raring to go!
Last week we enjoyed a poetry and art week, researching and thinking about different insects and mini beasts before writing and illustrating our own poems.
Our class book is full of fantastic poetry as well as beautiful drawings and paintings.
Brusho quickly became a class favourite. Take a look at the magic in action in a selection of photos below.
Thank you for all your kind wishes. I am so glad to be back in Fox class. Mr Moor and Miss Conlon have taken good care of the class in my absence and all of the children have continued to work hard.
The children have been busy today writing a story about Olaf and Sven, using lots of new skills they have learnt over the past few weeks.
We are looking forward to preparing for the Christmas concert and our various events this term.
Keep an eye on our class page for updates and photos of what we are up to. We look forward to sharing it all with you.
Thank you for coming along to meet the teacher last week. I hope it was a helpful session.
If you were unable to make it or have any questions regarding our timetable please come and see me. I can provide you with a copy of the power point from the session.
Please read through our Curriculum Newsletter to find out what we will be looking at over the next few weeks.
We hope your children have enjoyed their first week in year 2.
We have certainly enjoyed getting to know them all.
Our topic this term is Explorers. We have just begun to look at a new book - Man on the Moon.
It is all about Bob the moon caretaker who is blissfully unaware of the aliens that are all around him.
PE is on Tuesday so make sure your child has their kit.
All other important information will be communicated to you at our
'Meet the teacher' session on Wednesday 13th September at 2.45pm.
We hope you can make it!
